Anyone interested in helping support the Bulverde/Spring Branch Library is eligible for membership.  The advantages of becoming a member of the Friends are numerous.  You will receive emails about activities and functions of the Friends as well as the library, meet interesting and remarkable people of our community, and have a chance to promote the library.  Public libraries are cherished in societies that value education and knowledge.  The BSBL focuses on nourishing the community by opening the minds of children and adults alike.  Click here to sign up online--Membership form

The following are the membership categories:

$10 Student (Under 21)

$10 Senior (Over 60)

$10 Military (Active/Retired)

$15 Individual

$15 Senior Family

$25 Family

$50 Patron/Vendor

$100  Sponsor (5 consecutive years converts to a lifetime membership)

$250 Benefactor (2 consecutive years converts to a lifetime membership)

$500 Lifetime

Friends also have many volunteer opportunities/committees.

Below is a list of volunteer opportunities or activities with the Friends; additional information of each one should be directed either to the Board or to the Committee Chair.

Adopt a Library Shelf—Volunteer will check a specific shelf of books looking for books out of order

Book and Author Luncheon—a major fund raiser; volunteers assist with arranging the luncheon/author appearances/book sales/tickets sales/selling ads, etc.

Book Nook—Assist with keeping the Book Nook tidy and filled with donated books; check donated books into Book Room; sorting books into correct categories

Book Sale—Assist in getting books set up for sale; working the register; etc.

Bus Trips—Arrange bus trips to various locations; arrange meals, transportation, etc.

Butterfly Garden—Assist with the upkeep of the garden

FOL Board Member—this is a two year commitment; if you wish to run for the board please see one of the Board members for information

Genealogy Club—Monthly meetings to learn about genealogy; topics vary each month; open to all members of Friends

Grant Writing—Writing grants

Great Decisions—volunteer to be a facilitator for topic of the week

Hospitality—Assist with set up/take down of tables/chairs; prepare food/drink, etc.

Library Volunteer—various tasks such as shelving, desk check out, book repair, etc.  Please contact the Library Volunteer Coordinator for additional information.

Membership—Assist the membership chair with signing up new members at events

One Book/One Community—volunteers chose a book and then arrange programing around the book; assists in setting up programs/food, etc.

Programs—Assist the President Elect with scheduling programing such as author appearances; community concerns programs, etc.

Publicity---Write and submit articles to local newspapers

Reader’s Theater—Assist with production

Veterans Day Celebration--Arrange for a Veterans Day celebration each year
