How to Get a Library Card
Who can get a card? All residents of Texas are eligible. Children under the age of 18 can also receive a card with the signature of a parent or legal guardian.
What do you need to get a card? You need to show some type of photo identification: a Texas Driver's License, Student id, military id, or employer ID, and verification of current address such as your checkbook, your voter's registration card, a utility bill or mail that is addressed to you with a recent postmark.
Fees: First card is free. Lost card $1.00 replacement fee.
Card benefits: Checkout up to 30 items which can include 5 DVDs and 5 audiobooks
Checkout periods: DVDs - 1 week, all other items - 2 weeks
Download an application for a library card here. Once filled out, please return to the library with your identification and address verification to receive your card.
Texshare Cards: After having and using your library card for one month, we can issue you a Texshare card which will allow you to check out books and return them to participating libraries. Please beware that they must be returned to the library you checked them out from.
